My husband and I just had our wedding at oak mountain this weekend. Laura and Matt made the wedding process easy and stress free. If you’re looking to find a wedding venue, this is the perfect one. Laura was in constant communication with us making sure we had the best experience for our big day. Her kindness and patience put me at ease throughout the entire day. I knew I could leave all the coordinating up to her and everything turned out perfect! Thank you so much Laura for allowing us to have our dream wedding here at Oak Mountain.
My husband and I got married at Oak Mountain back in May. Laura and team were incredible! They were so very accommodating throughout the entire process and did everything they could to make our day so special. Laura was so easy to work with. Due to COVID restrictions and our desire to have an intimate wedding, we were able to have our reception in the restaurant area of the venue. It fit our vision and our group of 27 perfectly! Our summit ceremony was beautiful and was so much fun for all. The food was SO delicious that we can't wait to visit the restaurant again. We couldn't have asked for anything more (even despite Mother Nature). The rain made the day that much more memorable (thank you for blasting the heat to dry & warm us all up in the lodge, Laura!). The Oak Mountain team was so flexible and pleasant to work with. We highly recommend Oak Mountain and the town of Speculator for your special day.
I've been coming to Oak for many years and always have a great time there. There are excellent trails to learn on as a beginner and they leave more advanced trails ungroomed after they get snow which is also super fun! The drive to the mountain and views of Lake Pleasant are beautiful. Their food is also good and reasonably priced. It's a true independent, family-owned mountain.
A very cute and fun place to ski! Very family friendly. My wife and I wound up skiing here after Gore sold out. Not all of the trails were open, but it was well worth it. I would definitely describe it as an authentic old Adirondack skiing experience. This place is perfect for beginners through advanced skiers.
My niece and I had our first tubing visit to Oak Mt. for the '25 - '26 winter season. We love coming here because it's such a warm and friendly place. Today, we were a little nervous about using the newly installed magic carpet lift. I explained my concerns to Francisco, when checked me in. He assured me it was safe, then he graciously helped me navigate getting on the lift. Once at the top, Levi was there to help everyone disembark from the lift. Levi is a very energetic and happy young man, who eased anyone's concerns, even mine! Can't say enough wonderful things about Oak Mt. We'll be back soon!
Awesome little ski resort. Really lovely snow and great people working there. No lines and nice runs. What more do you want if you’re beginner to intermediate?
I went for a wedding in the fall and is the most scenic place ever. I love it.
Long drive. Totally worth it. The lodge has snacks the staff is super friendly. The kids commented on the girl at the top of the tubing hill, she was very nice to them. We love sledding in town but nothing beats an hour and a half of not walking up the hill! Fun annual day out!
